Emergency Disclosure of User Information

Contact guidance and procedures for law enforcement and government agencies.

This page is for law enforcement and government agencies who wish to request an emergency disclosure of user information for the purposes of ensuring the safety of a user or users, or for the prevention of a serious crime. Only requests from law enforcement or government agencies will be considered for emergency disclosure.

These disclosures are only made in the most serious of circumstances. You do not need a court order to request an emergency disclosure, but you must be able to demonstrate that the disclosure is necessary -- which will be assessed at our discretion.

When we will disclose information

We will only disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • To prevent serious harm to a user or users
  • To prevent a serious crime
  • To protect a child or vulnerable person

The threshold for disclosure is high, and we will not disclose information unless we are satisfied that the disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm or a serious crime. As such, when making a request, you must provide as much information as possible to demonstrate that the disclosure is necessary. All requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and treated with the utmost urgency, seriousness and sensitivity.

How to request an emergency disclosure

To request an emergency disclosure, please email legal@redeyetechnologies.co.uk with the following information:

  • Your name and position
  • Your organisation
  • Your contact details (email and phone number)
  • The name of the user(s) you are requesting information about (if you do not know the name of the user(s), please provide as much information as possible to help us identify the user(s))
  • The reason for the request -- please provide as much information as possible to demonstrate that the disclosure is necessary

We will respond to your request as soon as possible. If we require further information, we will contact you using the contact details you provide.

We will only respond to emails which come from a law enforcement or government agency email address (.police.uk, .gov.uk, etc and international equivalents).
